The Cartographer is the unseen architect of the Black Flag world - the keeper of maps, the recorder of legends, the silent watcher of the seas. He doesn't lead fleets. He equips leaders.
Where others see chaos, he sees patterns - currents, winds, and unseen forces that shape every line. He charts them into a map. Every path a disc can take through the seas has its place. Every place has its purpose.
The tools themselves are forged by trusted makers across the world. The Cartographer does not create them. He selects them, assigns them their place, and marks them for those who know how to use them.
To most, it's just a chart. To a captain...it's a way to build a bag with intention. To understand every slot. To trust what's in your hand when the moment comes.

1. THEMED BAGS
A bag should feel like more than a collection of discs. It should feel like a crew. Every design we release is part of a larger system - a shared identity that lets you build a bag that looks, feels, and plays as one. Disc golf is meant to be fun and Black Flag Discs was started solely for a couple people who thought it would be fun to have pirate-themed discs. Being able to have an entire themed bag or even just a couple pirate-themed stamped discs helps add to the fun.
2. SLOT CONSISTENCY / THE FLIGHT MAP
We map discs by how they fly (speed and net stability) and assign each one to a defined slot. Every disc ever made belongs to one of the slots. This helps eliminate guesswork and redundancy. Learn the map and you can build a bag that covers every line with intention.
3. MANUFACTURER FREEDOM
Performance comes first and loyalty should come second for the average disc golfer. There are too many great molds from too many great manufacturers to limit yourself to just one or two. Being able to throw the best of them all is an advantage.
4. FAIR PRICING
Good discs with custom designs shouldn't come at a premium just for the artwork on them. We price our discs to stay in line with the game - not above it. You're paying for performance, design, and purpose - not unnecessary markup. We do not charge a "collector's fee" as our custom-stamped discs. Throw them, keep them, build a set. They're yours to use however you see fit.
5. ARTISTIC IDENTITY
Every disc carries a mark. Not decoration - identity. Our designs are built to reflect the slot they represent and the world they belong to. All of our designs are hand-drawn in house before being redrawn and refined in vector format to prepare them for custom stamping. Many great artistic stamps are a bit hard to see, so our design style is meant to be a bit bolder and simpler, while still looking cool and telling a story.
