PLASTICS CHART

A unified system for understanding plastic types across manufacturers.

Different manufacturers use different names for similar plastic types - like Champion, Z, Proton, and Opto for translucent discs. The Plastics Chart organizes these into a single system, so you can understand, compare, and choose your discs without learning every brand's terminology.

The Plastics Chart removes the need to compare brand-specific plastic names. Instead, you can focus on how a disc looks, feels, performs, and how it fits into your bag - regardless of manufacturer.

We are not renaming the plastics. We created our own cross-manufacturer categories for user convenience. Other retailers do this with words like "Premium," "Base," "Glow," etc. Our theme just makes it more fun!

CORE PLASTICS

All plastics are built on one of three core materials: Steel, Sea, and Wood. Each defines the foundation of how a disc looks and feels in the hand and how it responds on the course - from durability and stability to grip and control.

STEEL

Opaque

Forged in the heat of distant foundries and tempered by the demands of the open sea, Steel plastic carries the weight of a captain's resolve. It is the metal of cutlass and cannon - solid, reliable, and built to endure the voyage.

When a disc is cast in Steel, it becomes a tool of precision and consistency across all conditions.

Sea-Black-and-Bone-Icon.png

Born from the clarity of open waters, Sea plastic is firm, glass-like, and unbreakable. It moves with the certainty of the tide, holding its course with quiet authority.

When the path ahead is uncertain, captains trust the Sea to guide them true.

WOOD

Grippy Base

From the hulls of well-worn ships to the handle of every seasoned sailor's tool, Wood is the material that binds hand to craft. Wood plastics provide grip and control where precision matters most.

A disc cast in Wood is a captain's daily companion - dependable, familiar, and unshaken by storm or strain.

SUB-PLASTICS

Each core material includes specialized variations - such as gummy, glow, or swirled plastics. These sub-types describe characteristics like flexibility and visual pattern while maintaining the properties of the core plastic type.

Jelly-Black-and-Bone-Icon.png

JELLY

Gummy

Soft as the body of a drifting jellyfish yet resilient as its sting, Jelly plastic bends but never breaks. Flexible and grippy, it absorbs impact and settles with control where the course demands it most.

In the hands of a skilled captain, Jelly plastic's pliability becomes an advantage.

Foam-Black-and-Bone-Icon.png

Like sea foam carried across the surface, Foam plastic is light, responsive, and easy to command. It moves with the current rather than against it, allowing for smooth, controlled lines with less effort.

A disc cast in Foam is a tool for captains who favor finesse over brute force.

Maelstrom-Black-and-Bone-Icon.png

Few sights command attention like a spinning sea vortex. Maelstrom plastic captures that motion - current of color twisting inward like a whirlpool that pulls the eye as surely as a ship to its doom.

No two are alike, and none remain still.

Blast-Black-and-Bone-Icon.png

The thunder of a cannon is followed by the blast. Blast plastic captures that moment - color radiating outward from the center in a bold, explosive pattern. Chaos and beauty.

Bold, striking, and impossible to ignore.

Rift-Black-and-Bone-Icon.png

As landmasses tear and tides divide, rifts are born - sharp boundaries between one world and the next. Rift plastic echoes this phenomenon: a dramatic outer ring formed by the clash of colors, marking the edge where forces meet.

The Rift edge is unmistakable.

Ghost-Black-and-Bone-Icon.png

When the light fades and the seas grow dark, Ghost plastic awakens. Charged by sun or lantern, it glows with an eerie calm - like the specters said to drift above drowned treasure.

A guide when visibility is lost, trusted by captains who refuse to lose their way.

Sparkle-Black-and-Bone-Icon.png

Some say the sea sparkles where treasure lies beneath the waves. Others claim it is bioluminescence dancing in the foam. Whatever the truth, Sparkle plastic captures that glint.

Flotsam-Black-and-Bone-Icon.png

Debris from distant wrecks drifts across the open sea - scattered, broken, yet strangely beautiful. Flotsam plastic bears this same look: a speckled surface formed from scattered fragments.

A deliberate pattern etched along the edge.
